THE TELEGRAM OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMISSAR FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE USSR V.M. MOLOTOV
TO THE PLENIPOTENTIARY OF THE USSR IN FINLAND V.K. DEREVYANSKY
October 28, 1939.
We have no information from the Finns about the period of time for return of the Finnish delegation to Moscow for continuation of negotiations. There are persistent rumors that the silence of Finns means a rupture of negotiations. Communicate about this with Erkko and declare on behalf of the Soviet government that the Soviet government wants to receive a clear answer from the Finnish government, whether these rumors confirm with reality. Reply via cable.
